Adverse influence of media on adolescents

Availability of multiple media like television, computers and mobile phones lead the adolescents to multitasking. This can lead to deterioration in their academic performance. Media violence can lead to aggressive behavior. Often, more time of an adolescent is spent watching media, compared to time spent for other activities at home . Time spent on mobile phones is also high. Teenagers may spent time on mobile phones overnight and be sleepy at school in the morning. Interactive video games with violence, increase the tendency for violent behavior. Media has high power in shaping the future of an adolescent and hence should be used judiciously, for their welfare.
